War, war never changes.
The year is 2270. Nearly 200 years have passed since the world as we know was destroyed, replaced with a vicious hellscape fraught with radiation and mutated horrors. But not all of humanity was destroyed. Those that remained, survived because of a nationwide motion to create underground bunkers known as Vaults. But these Vaults were not all in humanity's favor. The company in charge of these vaults primarily used them as experiments, varying from simple social experiments to experiments with terrifying results. Regardless of the sins of Vault Tec, the Vaults gave humanity a chance to ride out the worst of the nuclear fallout. As years passed, tribes were formed, then towns, then governments. But the struggles against the environment, wildlife both new and old, and other societies, has created a wartorn wasteland like no other. Slowly, humanity has made progress in trying to restore the prosperity of the past.
But war... war never changes. ________________________

Critical Hits are random, decided by skills and of the course the GM. They are hits that, at base, do double the damage than normal. What about Carrying Capacity? The amount of weight you can carry before becoming overencumbered. Everyone's base CC is 100 lb. Skills can increase this. Weight of the objects you carry are decided by your GM. Overencumberance makes you move much slower and it makes it much more difficult to conduct combat. Health and Stamina Each character has a health and stamina bar, maintained by the GM. All health and stamina bars start at 100 points. Damage lowers your health, while radiation lowers your potential health at the discretion of the GM. Actions lower your stamina at the discretion of the GM. Armor can shield your health from depleting depending on the type of armor worn and the type of damage sustained, also decided by the GM. Do we have VATS? Until a way of implementing it in RP can be discovered, VATS will not exist in this story. As before, any and all character sheets must be approved by a GM before being posted to the thread. CS's can be declined because of overpowered weaponry, armor, or equipment, so try to keep your starting inventory moderate. Loot will come soon enough. With that out of the way, I hope you all enjoy this game I've made! Thanks to Edward and the others who created Trials, which gave this game its framework.

Matt Morgan
Theme Song
Name: Matthew Morgan
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Occupation: Mayor of New Haven
Height: 6’2” (1.88 m)
Appearance: Unkempt, cool brown hair with a beard. Sunkissed, weathered skin. Light gray eyes with a scar over his left eyebrow and a light burn scar on his right shoulder.
Weapons: Broad Machete and .44 Magnum Revolver
Equipment: One Stimpak, One Bottle of RadX, 200 Caps, Colonial Duster (Clothing)
Description of Abilities: Morgan is a formidable combatant, based upon his success as a caravan guard for nearly a decade. His knowledge on how to survive the wastes is second to none, which has gotten him out of more than a few jams. But above all, Matthew Morgan is a leader. He has a way of inspiring others, and uniting them together for one simple goal: survival.
Personality: Matthew is a realist, gauging threats accurately and not afraid to speak the truth. He possesses a certain wisdom from surviving the Wasteland for so long, and he's never unwilling to teach others what they need to survive.
Biography: Matthew was born to the Morgan family in the Capital Wasteland; the ruins of Washington D.C. The first four years of his life were spent on the move with his mother, Gloria, and his father, Jon. But word had spread of a new settlement, one founded upon the ruins of a wrecked ship: Rivet City. It took three days to get there, and while Matthew did not remember much of the journey, he did know that his mother did not survive it. He and his father began a new life at Rivet City, gaining living quarters and steady access to food. His father became a security guard for the city, and Matthew took a part-time job at the diner, saving what he earned until he was able to afford his first pistol at the age of 14. Against his father's wishes, Matthew set out into the Wasteland at the age of 18, alongside a clothing caravan that had passed through Rivet City in search of a new guard. Morgan guarded that caravan for a year before it was destroyed by raiders, and while he was able to save the leader of the caravan, the old man had decided that this would be the last time one of his caravans got sacked. And so, Morgan escorted him to Megaton, where he would retire and live out the rest of his days. Matthew stayed there for three years, spending what he had earned to pay for his food and lodging, and doing odd jobs around the town to earn the extra caps. A caravan had soon come around, however, this time it was a weapons merchant. Morgan's previous experience easily netted him a job as a caravan guard for the second time, allowing him a path out of Megaton and back on the road. Rumors began to circulate of an army of armored soldiers called the Brotherhood of Steel arriving in the Capital Wasteland that year, but Matthew never did put much stock in rumors. That is, until he and the caravan ran into a small Brotherhood patrol a few years later, some woman in power armor escorting a man and his newborn baby back towards Megaton. Matthew had wished them the best of luck, but knew it was not his place to abandon the caravan for strangers he barely knew. In the year of 2260, rising tensions in the Capital Wasteland, caused by the rise of the Super Mutant population, the leader of the weapons caravan, Sarge Jones, decided that it was time for the caravan to head north, and he wanted his most trusted caravan guard to come with. Matthew was willing to leave, but wanted to give a farewell to his father before doing so. The Brotherhood of Steel provided protection for the caravan at the outskirts of the Citadel while Morgan headed south to Rivet City, alone. The journey was dangerous, forcing Matthew through Deathclaws, Radscorpions, Super Mutants, and Raiders. And though Matthew earned some scars, he had finally reached Rivet City. He only found grief there, learning that his father had been killed by a Mirelurk a year before. With his journey a waste, he returned north to find that the caravan had also been destroyed in an attack by a Super Mutant Behemoth. Nowhere left to turn, Matthew decided to leave the tragedies of the Capital Wasteland behind, heading north. After a year, Matthew found himself in a new world, known as the Commonwealth. Here was a wasteland kept together by a band of militia known as the Minutemen, though the recent loss of their base seemed to start a decline in their control over the Wastes. With their aid, Matthew decided to repurpose a town just a few kilometers north of the old Sanctuary Hills, naming it New Haven. Walls were built, defenses established, and the town soon became both a trading hub and a relatively safe place to live.

Name: Trenton Gordon
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Occupation: Steel Mill Slave
Height: 6'2
Appearance: Green Eyes with amber flakes, dark brown hair to the point its almost black, high cheekbones and tanned skin from the heat of the forges.
Weapons: A piece of metal made into a shank of sorts
Equipment: A Hammer, tongs, gloves, and a long Coat to keep back the heat of the forges.
Description of Abilities: A mad scientist at heart Trenton enjoys to create weapons from the various pieces of metal he can find in the Pitts steel forges. He plans to try and earn his freedom soon using his brains and his ability to fight. He appears to also have a natural charm to an extent making him a deadly enemy.
Personality: Conniving, Cunning and Intuitive.
Biography: Born in the Capital Wasteland to a Jennifer Irwin and a Samuel Gordon, Trenton was raised to be a fighter and an intellect. His father constantly taught him to question things, always. Never simply follow someone because they say to follow them. Chances are they're probably tricking you. His mother though would school him. She taught him to think. To look at all things with value and to learn that value you must experiment. What could you make with a rock? An ax using a stick and some vines or rope, a sling with some cloth. With his father teaching him survival studies and how to fight his mother taught him to think for himself. But as he grew up he developed a natural charm. Travelers would come by and he'd talk to them and somehow give them a run for their money. One day when Trenton was ten years old a group of Super Mutants attacked their house. Being far from normal cities or towns the parents decided to sacrifice themselves so that Trenton could escape. Eventually this led to Trenton finding Little Lamplight, a town in a cave for children alone. He had many fun times there playing with the other children though he was sometimes different from the others having seen his parents slaughtered and having known them. He would go out sometimes simply to look around for cool plants to catalogue in his mind as well as their uses. One day he was out when he got caught by slavers. They took him back to their camp where he met some other missing children. He asked them what was happening and they told him they were being sold as slaves. He told them could be worse. Could be tortured by Super Mutants or even eaten alive by their centaurs. It was then he was being sold at the age of thirteen to The Pitt. From the Slaver Camp he was taken directly to The Pitt and there he began his life as a steel mill worker. Each day he awoke to work at the mill and each night he'd leave it to sleep. He'd scrounge around for what he could get his hands on, a coat, hammer, scrap, anything. He'd then save it or use it. Which brings us to the now. Still a worker but perhaps soon to be a free man.

Name: Cygnus Canes Age: 30 Sex: Male Race: White Occupation: Hunter Height: 5 foot 9 inches Appearance: picture Weapons: Bowie Knife, Bolt Action Hunting Rifle, revolver Equipment: one stim pack, leather trench coat that comes down to his mid shin, leather boots. Description of Abilities: Cygnus is a skilled hunter and good shot with a gun as a result of many years of hunting . Personality: generally friendly and happy while also at times wry and sardonic Biography: Cygnus was born in Diamond City to Lyra and Corvus Canes. His parents were both hunters so they would leave Diamond City all the time for long hunting trips to get meat to sell to the butchers and skins to sell to the local tanner to make into leather. His father Corvus taught him how to shoot while his mother Lyra taught him how to track animals. One day when he was 14 Cygnus and his parents were out hunting when they were attacked by a albino deathclaw with a broken left horn. His father was killed and his mother was left blind with two broken legs before it ran off with Cygnus’ knife stuck in it's right eye. After burying his father Cygnus had to go on frequent one day long hunting trips so he could care for his mother while she recovered and still be able to afford food until she was able to walk again and insisted he go on longer trips to get more to sell. He would sometimes take his friend Kameron Winfry with him so he could try to make some more money to help feed him and his sister but he was a terrible shot and no amount of practice was changing that so he gave up on hunting trips in favor of odd jobs around the city. When Cygnus was 20 his friend got involved with the wrong crowd in hopes of getting more money to better provide for his sister and they quickly got him killed. Cygnus insisted his late friends sister Karley stay in his place with his mother so she would have a roof over her head and something to eat till she was old enough and could afford to be on her own. Having her there with his mother also made him more at ease about being out on the longer day hunting trips cause his mother wasn't alone but he still kept it down to being gone three days a week. Theme: Name: Malachi Barnes Age: 30 Sex: Male Race: Caucasian Occupation: Freelancer Height: 6'0" Appearance: *see image* Weapons: R91 Assault Rifle, M1911 Sidearm, Combat Knife Equipment: Pre-War US Army helmet and uniform, binoculars, backpack to carry food and other supplies Description of Abilities: Average marksmanship, average hand-to-hand combat Personality: Wary, Distrustful, Stubborn Biography: Malachi was born to a family that had strong political convictions against the communist regimes of China and the USSR. As Malachi grew up these convictions rubbed off on him, convincing him that the USSR and China were dangerous, and that they needed to be stopped. As he reached adulthood, Malachi wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life. Though he had been informed he had talents in the arts by several of his high school teachers and peers, he felt that a career in the arts would be of little use to his country as tensions continued to rise. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. China soon invaded Alaska, resulting in the United States annexation Canada to ensure their support in the defense against the Chinese threat. Malachi, along with the rest of the Canadian military, was drafted into the United States Armed Forces as the Canadian subdivision. Malachi was assigned the role of communications officer, given an R91 assault rifle, and stationed at the Anchorage front line defense in 2067. Although not pleased about the loss of his homeland's sovereignty, Malachi was still content to serve, so long as it meant they had a better chance of defeating the communists. His years of service in defense of Anchorage earned him the rank of Corporal, but a major disagreement with one of his superiors saw him demoted and put on probation. He was later transferred to become a test subject in one of Vault Tec's experimental programs. Within the confines of Vault 86, Malachi and several others were unknowingly exposed to a variant of the Force Evolution Virus. The variant was intended to drastically extend the lifespan of individuals who breathed it, however the unforeseen side effect was that anyone who inhaled it for more than three hours was put into a comatose state. The science team assigned to Vault 86 spent several months researching the virus trying to determine why it had induced comas, but a leak in the ventilation system exposed them and they soon became dormant just as their test subjects were. Eventually, the internal power to the facility failed, and the FEV variant slowly dispersed until it was no longer strong enough to keep its victims unconscious. Malachi was among the first to wake up, and after realizing he was being used as a lab rat, he staged an escape while the majority of the scientist and security personnel were still unconscious. Malachi found himself in the wasteland with no sense of how much time had passed or what had happened while he was out. He had several close calls before arriving at Diamond City, and has since worked as a gun fire hire, typically rendering his services to the Commonwealth or others he deems to be reputable employers. GM UPDATE IC: Matthew Morgan New Haven, The Commonwealth
Matthew awoke to the smell of cooking meat, the savoury aroma pouring through the cracked glass of his nearby window. Sitting up in his bed, Matt stretched outward, relaxing the tense muscles in his neck, arms, and back; the mattress he slept upon was likely the most comfortable in all of New Haven, but that was not exactly a high bar to leap over. His drowsy eyes quickly took in the details of his surroundings. The royal green wallpaper that once covered the walls of this lovely abode was largely peeled away, the missing spots painted over with the best green paint that they could find. Hanging on the walls were various posters that Matthew had come across over the years. One was a poster of Grognak the Barbarian, the fictional hero leaping high into the air with his famous axe, falling towards an angry dragon with the intent of slaying the beast. Matthew, for the first time, was drawn to wonder what if there were Deathclaws out there that could breathe fire like some of the ants in the Capital Wasteland. The thought made him shiver. Regular Deathclaws were bad enough; no need to make them worse by throwing fire into the mix. Another poster was of a Nuka Cola girl, wearing the trademark, tight white dress with the Nuka Cola logo. She was holding a glowing blue bottle of Nuka Cola, the ultra-popular Nuka Cola Quantum. Matthew used to love the stuff when he found it, even if it made his urine glow a few hours later. Regardless, he was happy he found one of the very few posters advertising Quantum, as most from before the war only brandished the standard Nuka Cola, which Matt did not enjoy nearly as much. The other posters did not grab his attention as much this morning, and so he rubbed his eyes before standing from his bed and walking to the dresser on the opposite side of his room. Sitting atop the dresser was his gunbelt and revolver, the former of which he strapped onto his waist, with the latter then slid into the holster. Digging into the drawers of the dresser, he withdrew his duster, which he then slid on and buttoned closed; there was a chill in the air today. Stepping outside into the sunlight, Matthew warmed up a bit as he finally saw what had awoken him. The local restaurant of New Haven, The Chomp Shop, was cooking a leg of Brahmin on a makeshift rotisserie outside of their shop, using it as advertisement, as the owner, Duncan, often did. The smell was absolutely decadent; Matt would have to reserve himself the first bite of that Rotisserie Beef. The sun was not quite so high in the sky, so it was obviously not even noon yet. But the town seemed to be busier than usual. It took a quick walk around for Matthew to realize why; a trader from Diamond City had come in this morning. A gun merchant, if Matt had heard correctly. He would have liked to have approved the arrival himself, but his second-in-command, Alexas, had neglected to inform him. He was sure that she simply didn't want to wake him so early, but going over his head was more infuriating than a little less sleep. Regardless, the guns were welcome here. Especially with the problems that had been coming from down south. ______________________________
IC: Polly Diamond City, The Commonwealth More meat. Polly hated this job. Sure, it brought in the caps, but chopping up meat and selling it was one of the most boring existences she could have ever thought of. She wished her poetry, or even her dancing would give her enough caps to live off of, but people here were barely able to read, let alone willing to pay for art of any sort. Food, though, people loved food. Even the ghouls in the city wouldn't turn down a good Brahmin steak. Thankfully for Polly, all she had to do was chop the meat up, leaving her plenty of time to herself. It was a blessing that she had started this business with a partner of sorts. Cygnus Canes, a hunter born and raised in the bright, green jewel of the Commonwealth. He would bring in the meat, she would sell it. It was a good deal, especially since Polly wasn't one for killing, even with the utter lack of satisfaction in her life making her appear to be “an asshole” as one former customer said last week. Probably a synth, for all Polly knew. Far as she knew, Cygnus was home enjoying some time with his friend, Karly, and his mother before having to go on another hunting trip. Part of Polly felt that he took so long on these trips not because it was hard to find something edible, but because he was looking for something else entirely. Whether it was edible or not, Polly didn't know. But so long as it didn't get him killed, Polly wasn't worried about it. Not with all this meat to chop. TAG: darthvoxyn ______________________________ IC: Lyra Canes Diamond City, The Commonwealth “You know,” Lyra said, not bothering to look where her blade was chopping as she began to dice a tato, “that synth who got in good with the mayor, Nick, I think it said, is setting up in town. I'm sure it would pay for some help with whatever it's doing, and that's a straight shot to the mayor's pockets.” She was speaking to Karly, her son's friend who was living with them. Karly was a sweet girl, and Lyra couldn't stand to see good people suffer; she'd seen enough of that already. What Karly needed was a steady job, and a newcomer in town, synth or not, was a good place to look for one. Not waiting for an answer, Lyra scooped up the diced tato and dropped it into the nearby pot, adding in some much needed vegetables (or was it a fruit? Lyra was never sure) to this venison stew. She was glad that Cygnus saved the best cuts of meat for her, though she dreaded every time he had to leave to hunt some more. It reminded her of his father, and of his father's death at the hands of a monstrous beast. If Cygnus kept going out there, Lyra feared that he would suffer the same fate. Shaking away the bad thoughts, she took in a deep whiff of the stew as she stirred in the tato, the smell being positively amazing. Cygnus had left to pick something up from the market a few minutes before, likely something to help with his “expedition” tomorrow. Hopefully he'd be back before the stew got cold. TAGS: cliojayne , darthvoxyn ______________________________ IC: Reaver The Steel Mill, The Pitt “Put your back into it before I put a bullet in it!” Reaver shouted, his grip on the combat shotgun in his hands tightening. “Into my back or into the steel?” the slave, a young girl, inquired, not stopping as she continued to shovel the scrap into the furnace. Reaver growled, wanting to slam the butt of his gun into the back of her skull. But Lord Ashur told him to pull back on all of the killing, or else they'd run out of “workers” within a month. Didn't matter to Reaver much, since they were losing plenty still to the Trog Disease. What did it matter if a few died before they could become horrible monsters? But this girl was young, and her skin was still largely intact, so it would be a while yet before her usefulness would be run out. He'd let the smart comment slide, for now. Snarling, he replied, “Don't slow down, or else.”“You got it,” the girl answered, exasperated. Reaver took a few steps over, towards one of the slaves who was using a grinder to cut down some old steel beams and barrels into scrap that could be melted down. He didn't get too close, since a slave with an auto axe could be dangerous if said slave had decided today was as good as any other day to die. Unlike the last slave, Reaver knew this one's name. “Trenton! You working hard?” he laughed. TAG: trentongordon Attachments:

IC: Trenton Location: The Pitt Reaver had spoken to the new person. He shook his head. Terrible way to get them to cooperate. He nodded at Reaver when he asked if he were working hard. He dtopped for a bit to speak. "Yeah. You know you should mame an example of one of the slaves turning trog before they do. Think of it as a merciful death. You also teach the new people that you all mean business. Next time you see Ashur bring it up." He said returning back to his work. Steel. It was the blood of Old Pittsburg and its not only the blood, but the entire body of The Pitt. They used it for everything and they'd continue to. He was giving valuable information to get on the good side of the guards and Ashur so that once he won his freedom and met Ashur, he'd be ready. He might simply allow Ashur to die "naturally" or maybe he'd simply revolt. He didn't know yet. Tag: darthkain7

Ic: Karly Location: Diamond City, The Commonwealth
Karly breathed deeply, inhaling the familiar and comforting scent of Lyra’s cooking. Lyra and Cygnus had always been so good to her, ever since her brother had… passed. The short young woman knew that Cygnus felt like he had to take care of her as his friends little sister, but that didn’t make her appreciate it any less. There were many in the Commonwealth who would have let her starve, friends sister or not. Cygnus, and his mother Lyra, hadn’t even hesitated to bring the tiny brown haired brat she had been. Carefully avoiding looking at Lyra’s haphazard chopping- that was a battle she and Cygnus had tried to win for years with no progress, Lyra would chop how she wanted- Karly kissed the older woman on the cheek. “Thanks for the heads up Lyra, that sounds like it could be really interesting. I’ll go check it out.” Karly grabbed a blue silk jacket with a flower print on her way out of the door. It had been her mother's once upon a time and now it was hers. Diamond City was the same as always. Dirty, dreary, and depressing. It was home, though. It always had been, but Karly was sure it wouldn’t be forever. Karly zoned out as she traveled through the town, following the “baselines”. Apparently Diamond City had once been home to a game called “baseball”. Lyra had tried to explain the basics to her when she had been younger, but Karly had just never been able to pick her way through understanding it. She turned into the alley north of the marketplace. If she remembered correctly that’s where the synth had set up shop. She entered the building and looked around a largish room that had a desk and a doorway to another room. Knocking on the doorway she called out softly, “Hello? Anyone here?” Hopefully the synth was in.

IC: Cygnus Canes Diamond City, the Commonwealth After quickly grabbing a hundred caps from his safe in the house Cygnus made his way to Commonwealth Weaponry to get more ammo. Walking through the dirty streets of Diamond City he finally arrived at the weapons store. When he got there he found Old Julio Rodriguez just going over his inventory. “Hey Julio, I need some more ammo for my revolver and rifle, you still have some ammo in stock?” TAG: darthkain7

GM UPDATE IC: Reaver The Steel Mill, The Pitt The cruel Reaver, while always open to maiming those that defied him, was not one to go against Lord Ashur's will; nor was he the kind of guy willing to ask Ashur if he could maim more people. That was a good way of getting maimed yourself. Reaver snorted, “Save the advice for someone who gives a shit. Now get your ass to your quarters, before I hear someone volunteered you for collecting the trash.”The trash, also known as steel ingots lying around the steelyard, were to be collected so often and brought to the raiders. Only problem was that the area of the steelyard that these workers would be sent to was infested with Trogs. Horrifying monsters, a result of the radiation and contamination of the Pitt. And with no weapons allowed for the workers, collecting the trash was little more than suicide. “Now go on,” Reaver ordered. “Get moving!” TAG: trentongordon___________________________________ IC: Nick Valentine Valentine's Detective Agency, Diamond City The old synth prototype would turn towards the sound of the noise invading his place. The front door, someone was knocking. His auditory receptors quickly determined that the voice belonged to a young woman. I'm not even set up yet and I'm already getting cases, he thought to himself. Lying around his office were various boxes filled with his belongings, some sitting on the desk he had moved in here and the rest scattered around the floor. He was really going to need some help if he was going to unpack all of this…. Not so brash as to wave off a potential client, especially when it could be someone in desperate need of his help, Nick called out, “Don't have a lock on the door yet, so come on in.” He of course was aware of the general anti-synth sentiment in Diamond City, after that incident years ago where a synth disguised as a man went crazy and killed a few people. In case it was some loon looking to attack him, he would have his 10mm pistol in his right hand, his metallic fingers gripping onto it tightly. TAG: cliojayne__________________________________ IC: Julio Rodriguez Diamond City Market, The Commonwealth The aged Hispanic man turned his gaze towards the young man approaching him. He recognized Cygnus, and as such, gave a warm smile. Canes was a good customer, never once asking him stupid questions or taking his sweet time deciding what he wanted. Unlike some people, who would come by and get annoyed when Julio would explain that they couldn't just load scrap metal into a gun and use it as ammo. “Hey Julio,” Cygnus said, “I need some more ammo for my revolver and rifle, you still have some ammo in stock?”“Yeah, man,” Julio replied. “Usual .44 and .308’s? How many you want of each?”TAG: darthvoxyn___________________________________ Malachi Barnes would find himself leaning against one of the sheet metal walls in the Diamond City Market, his eyes warily searching around for any potential clients. It had not been long since he had arrived here, but he had already earned a bit of a reputation as a solid merc for hire. However, business had been slow lately, and when business was slow, it only left him with his thoughts. Thoughts that dwelled on his past. Before the war, in the vault, awaking to this hell of a wasteland… it had been a lot to take in. But he would be damned if this world was going to chew him up and swallow him whole. He would notice a man approaching Julio's store, apparently asking for ammo. A potential client, maybe? An extra gun was always helpful, especially since that gun was already loaded. TAG: volacius

Description of Abilities: Tiana is a ruthless enforcer of her followers and a self proclaimed prophet from a few of them since her ability to lead has kept her gang surviving and thriving in the wasteland. Starting out as a ragtag group of orphans made from chaos in their teenage years, TiTi eventually would take charge of the group and develop them into a ruthless gang of soldiers and raiders who took what they needed and who they needed to survive. Agile, Great with a gun and melee weapons, and expert in getting away when needed, Tiana would be one hard person to take down despite any lack of formal training. Personality: Tianna is ruthless and has a heart of steel and cold eyes even towards the most dire of situations. The situations of her life as a child and pre teen she would learn how to murder without conscience and steal to survive since she was often given very little. Prone to small psychotic breaks in intense situations she goes on a rage and can sometimes go off with little to stop her from causing more chaos than currently is ensuing. However, with her gang and in the confines of her fortress she feels at home and is one of the most artistic and lighthearted people to be around. Biography: Born to a tribe of nomads far from Diamond City, Tiana’s parents were scavengers who lived off the little on the land and made due with living very poorly and light. It was in this way Tiana was originally going to be raised until a small encounter between her tribe and cult of slavers and raiders who came across them while traveling through the vast wasteland. Originally hoping to just give the cultist what they wanted and have them leave in peace when the negotiations were short and failed, the nomads were taken prisoners as slaves for the cult and brought to their fortress in the cavern. Being only six years old at the time, the girl was separated from her parents and placed in the area of the fortress used for children who the cult felt could be indoctrinated into their way of life. Going through learning classes and hearing the creed of the cult as she began to reach the ending years of early childhood, Tiana began to fall for the cult’s teachings and realized it was her place to serve amongst them but it wouldn’t stay that way forever. Around the time she was thirteen years old she would have enough trust within the cult that she led a unit of foot soldiers all around her age as they raided and scavenged easy areas that the cult tended to look over. Calling their little unit; The Ones, they finally earned their first real mission when they were assigned to chase down an escaped slave who was headed in the direction of Diamond City but they were told to call off the chase if the fugitive made it to the border of the city and was granted access. The cult worried that Diamond City could taint the conditioning they had placed on their young soldiers and warriors they gave their excuse for why not to enter the city and just like that Tiana and her team was off and hunting the fugitive slave. Tracking him down over the course of a week all while heading towards the city soon it started getting into their view and then closer and closer as they were shocked to see such a place for the first time; for many of them it was the first time they had ever seen a city or even a settlement made of nice or somewhat nice buildings and tons of people. However, only five miles from the city border they caught the tired and worn down slave and after beating him near death, he explained the torture that adults go through when having be captured by the cult. Explaining that adults taken are subject to extreme torture and sacrifices for the Goddess of the Three Vices before being subjected to back breaking almost 24 hour a day slavery, Tiana would not believe him before realizing that dragging this guy back hundreds of miles would be too much effort for someone so weak and useless. Sending a bullet into his brain they would go all the way to the border of the city and string the man up as if crucifying him and leaving a sign saying. “We are coming… We are the Ones.” Returning back to the fortress almost a week later and delivering the news of the man’s fate to the leadership, Tiana would be heading back to her barracks when she would bump into a slave who at first she disregarded until she noticed that they looked alike. Seeing her malnourished and half dead mother in front of her but cowering before her like a scared pet, Tiana would feel something in her snap and she would decide that though she accepted the Goddess of the Cult as her savior, the current leadership needed to be purged and the society rebuilt. Tiana in a crazy episode mixed of reality, fantasy, faith, and the occult she would decide that she was the true voice of the Goddess on this forsaken planet and it was her goal to spread the faith and rule the world as the daughter of the Goddess. Over the next three years she began to expand her unit though it was under the nose of the leadership. Stockpiling their own weapons and finding scrap and heap for their own quarters under their control, the Ones moved a few miles from the main fortress and began to work on their own though they answered to the current Priestess. Little after her sixteenth birthday when she had just finished doing her inventory, she would see one of the Cult’s main enforcer bare down on their private fortress and claim that the cult was seizing a lot of the one’s weapons for a planned raid on diamond city in hopes of catching tons of people to sell or keep. After hearing the invasion plan and deciding it was stupid and wouldn’t do the goddess any good Tiana denied the deal before killing the enforcer. Knowing that the enforcer’s death created a fissure that wouldn’t be fixed, the ones armed and raided the main fortress before taking the leadership hostage and killing them in front of everyone before Tiana walked forward and declared herself the Priestess. However, knowing she needed the loyalty of the slaves and the people she rejected the notion that everyone has to believe in the Goddess… She did make it law that everyone had to serve to her whim though and that she would not be called the Priestess but instead the Daughter… Over the next few years she decided to rebrand the cult into more of a raider gang/faction whose main focus was making a city that could rival Diamond City but one rooted in dedication and wealth going towards the Goddess of the Three. Having all the slaves chained and shackled to walk while the members of the gang could find whatever transportation possible, the Ones and their property made the trek of over 150 miles towards Diamond City before stopping only a short twenty miles away from the border and establishing their new city centered around a fortress in which Tiana and her lieutenants resided. Taking scrap wherever they could and making due when possible, they were able to build a very small town outside the fortress in which the lower members and slaves resided however fenced in to prevent runaways from getting anxious seeing freedom aka Diamond City in the short distance. Six years since taking over and only one year prior to the present, Tiana felt the Ones were finally ready to storm Diamond City but not as invaders but as propagandist of the worst nature. “Join us or Join us..” became her motto and the people that didn’t fall in she would make quick use of. Deciding that it was time to flirt with war with the folks across the waste, she readied to make her first official appearance before them. IC: Trenton Location: The Pitt Trenton just shrugged and held his hands up walking towards the quarters. "I'm going. I'm going." He kept walking and put his hands down. He began glancing around at the workers. He never knew what might happen what with the trogs outside and all. Everyone had to be on their toes. They had raiders, trogs and even their own workers to lookout for. You never know who might have it out for you. He watched everyone walk around as if their lives were over. He wouldn't succumb to their depressive attitudes. He would escape a life of slavery and move up one day. Maybe even take Ashur's spot. Until then he'd continue working and grabbing whatever he could to make whatever he could. He finally got back to his quarter and went in closing the door behind him. He began exercising doing some push ups, sit ups, flutterkicks, squats and even practicing some punches and kicks. He thought about maybe developing a fighting form. Test it out in the fighting pits. After about an hour of exercising he took of his shirt and wiped his face and his body with it getting all the sweat off before laying down on his bed and tossing it across the room, which wasn't very far considering the size of the room. He closed his eyes and began to think of a life no longer a slave. Tag: darthkain7

IC: Malachi Barnes Location- Diamond City Caps gotta come from somewhere, Malachi thought as he casually made his way over to Julio's. As much as he often reminsced about the old world and what he'd fought for in the past, it was nevertheless a depressing use of his time, and it didn't get him any closer to paying for his next few meals. Being based in Diamond City, Malachi was a regular at Julio's which was a commodity that would definitely come in handy if this potential employer was easily spooked. Then again, he'd probably be cautious if someone that was as heavily-kitted as him walked up for no apparent reason, so he couldn't say he'd fault that sort of reaction either. Walking up to the counter, Malachi stopped beside Julio's other customer. "While you're down there Julio," he began, "you want to grab me some 5.56? Haven't had much work lately, but I could do with topping off my supply." Pretending to have only just noticed the man beside him, Malachi glanced over, offering a quick, "how you doin'?" before turning his attention back to Julio. darthkain7 , darthvoxyn

IC: Karly
Location: Valentine’s Detective Agency, Diamond City
Karly walked into the office room when she heard the gravelly voice of the synth call out to her. She was surprised at how “human” his voice sounded. It was perhaps a bit tinny, but not really different than any normal-sounding human voice. Looking around the room she saw quite a bit of mess scattered around that needed to be sorted out. Then she saw Nick Valentine for the first time.
His eyes were a slightly glowing yellow, his face deep into the uncanny valley of being almost completely lifelike but also not… quite right. The longer you looked the more you could see the damage that had been done to the faux skin of the synth. What would be gaping and horrifying wounds on any human were apparently not worth doing anything to fix or cover up. Karly did her best to keep her face smooth and unshocked at his appearance. Outright horror at how your hopefully future boss looked was probably not a great way to go about making that person your actual future boss.
Karly put some steel in her spine and took another step into the room before freezing. Why was he holding a gun? Were all the rumors about synths true? His invitation had sounded so friendly, though. Hands raised slightly, Karly’s voice had a slight tremor as she spoke, “I um… I just wanted to come ask if you might need some um… help… at all?” Her voice trailed off uncertainly at the end and she stood there frozen, all the things that had been said about synths running through her mind. Was she going to die here? Would he be more offended if she just left? Unlike her friend Cygnus, Karly wasn’t familiar with very much danger. She had a weapon, but she hadn’t even thought to bring it with her. Fear of synths or not she couldn’t imagine Lyra ever sending her anywhere that might lead to danger.
Her thoughts raced, missing the weapon, wishing Cygnus was there, wondering what was going to happen next, and staring into the glowing eyes of the synth. Tag: darthkain7

IC: The Daughter and her various minions
Location: The Fortress; Downtown Boston
The day was young and those who had enjoyed it so far would be in for a rude awakening over the course of the next hour. Surely over the past months they had grown used to looking outside of Diamond City and seeing their new neighbors in the distance. Just within eyesight could be seen the steel barrier fences of the Fortress and at the middle of the base was a high rise in which various designs and spray paint had been designed to show that it was what the daughter was calling her palace to the heavens. It was the tallest building she’d ever been in and she had only gone to the twentieth floor though the hike on the stairs was quite a lot to the girl. Sitting in her throne room she would keep her eyes glued on the clock counting down the minutes until her head General came and briefed her on how today’s action was going to go down. Finally as if by exact clockwork as the hour changed, her General walked in and to the throne before bowing before the Daughter. “Speak General… we don’t have all day you know.” Tiana would wave her hand to motion for the man to speak as she was becoming impatient. This day had been a long time coming and she was more than anxious about this. This would put her on the map with what would happen today. Should she succeed she would be the most powerful woman in the city and then she could get her real plans underway. “Well Daughter we have all the troops ready to move out and the vehicles are fueled. We are bringing two slave carriers but we can have the others within radio range to communicate once we get full with the citizens of Diamond City. It’s just…” He would trail off before looking away knowing what he had to say next would disappoint the woman. “It’s just what? Go ahead don’t be shy now.” She would answer waiting for the man to continue. She hated when people held stuff back but her General had heard himself some leeway with the woman. He had never let her down before and she didn’t expect that to start anytime soon. “It’s just that Diamond City as we thought is heavily fortified and it’s going to be near impossible for us to get into without explosives. And knowing your plan for the place we are going to have minimize explosions and structural integrity damage to the place. So we are going to have to get them to open the door for us and I highly doubt they’ll do that unless we project total strength, unity, and show them the way is with us and not against us.” The General explained making sure to look the Daughter directly in the eyes knowing that during times of admitting weakness they still would avoid a lot of wrath if they projected strength at the least. Getting up from her throne at the news, Tiana would walk up to the General and sigh before turning and walking to the glass window as she looked out in the direction of Diamond City; the first step in her grand goal. What was supposed to be her first great conquest would have to most likely be delayed due to the development that they needed to convince the citizens to open up or risk causing more damage to the place than necessary. Crossing her arms and sighing once more she would speak to the General without looking back at him. She knew that he must have had some strategy to show their power if he was confident enough to tell her about the possible failure of taking the city today. “So how are you going to fix this? How exactly are you going to give me the key to this entire city and make me the Empress that my mother says I must be in her name? How will you accomplish this?” She asked only turning around to face her General and her throne after finishing speaking. She wanted gauge the man and see what he would say in response. The man would cough for a moment before finally answering with something that he thought would work. “It’s simple Daughter. We need you there…” “Explain…” Was all she would reply. Hours Later
Location: Outside of Diamond City; Downtown BostonA caravan of vehicles blasting loud music would be able to be seen approaching the stadium based city. Twenty regular four door sedans of all different design and color accompanied by two large trucks with the back covered and two more trucks with cages attached to the trailer both filled with chains and shackles. And at the very back of the caravan would be a fully armored sedan that would appear to have no weaknesses or even openings to strike. Everything from the windows to the wheels had some armor around them to protect the one people would be able to guess that was inside. As the first vehicles reached the outside of Diamond City they would be met with the barrier blocking anyone from entering and it was there that the gang members/cultist would unload and arm up with their weapons before beginning to bang them on the walls of city barrier hoping that the loud clanging in unison would draw people down to the gate to either hear them or see that they are the overwhelming force and comply to their demands. With the trucks pulling up, more soldiers would unload before arming up themselves with a mix of MP40s, M16s, Pistols, and Revolvers. With some of the guys and girls already banging on the walls, the other ones would begin to shoot their rounds up and away from the city so that if the clanging wasn’t heard the bullets most definitely would. It was lastly that the fully armored vehicle would pull up and stepping out the two front doors would be two girls wearing rags with collars around their necks. They would each step to the back door of the car and open it up so the two occupants in the back would be able to step out. It would be the General first from the left side and then at last the Daughter would appear from the right side as she got out and stretched before starting her walk near the barrier. As the apparent slave would follow behind her Mistress, she would carry a megaphone in her hands as she knew the woman requested it to be there. Following her all the way to the front of the groups, they would watch Tiana take the megaphone and look back to her men and women and raise both hands as all of them held their guns up and ceased their shooting. “Who the fuck is we?!” The Daughter would yell as she brought the megaphone to her mouth and smiled as she knew by now there was no way that the others would not know that someone was outside the stadium city. “Ones! Ones! Ones! Ones! Ones!” The whole crowd began to shout over and over and over again as they knew what their leader wanted. One would be foolish to not follow the chant of the messiah herself; their exalted gang leader; The Daughter. Smiling as she got exactly what she wanted from her loyalist, the girl would let them go on for about a minute before quickly motioning her hands and letting the sound die instantly before she would turn and face the stadium again. This time holding the megaphone in their direction as she was finally ready to address them as their soon to be leader. “Good day everyone, my name isn’t important but what I shall be called is by my righteous title. I am the Daughter of the Goddess of Three and I’m here to get you on board with what’s going on here. I’m not going to talk your head off out here but I am coming inside with my people here. Now… there is two ways this is going to go… either the easy way or the hard way but no matter what the result and the choices remain the same. GM UPDATE
IC: Slaver Trenton's Quarters, The Pitt Three sharp knocks came to Trenton's door, snapping him from his dreams of a better life. Strange, normally the slavers would simply burst into the room if they wanted the occupant's attention. This one seemed to have enough courtesy to knock first. The slaver opened the door when and walked into the room, leaving the entrance wide open. He was an older man, graying hair and deep wrinkles being the telltale signs of it. Yet his fitness for his age was quite unusual, though one could suppose that being old at all in the Wasteland was unusual. He carried a simple sawed-off shotgun, though he did not seem as eager to use it as the others would be. “Hey, you,” the slaver spoke, his voice deep and gravelly, “Reaver threw your name into consideration for the fighting pits. Follow me, I'll take you there. And don't try anything.”TAG: trentongordon ___________________________________ IC: Nick Valentine Nick Valentine's Detective Agency, Diamond City As the girl stepped inside his shop, Nick quickly realized that the appearance of a metal man holding a gun was more intimidating than he intended; this was confirmed by the stranger's skin turning to a frightened pale. “I um… I just wanted to come ask if you might need some um… help… at all?”She sounded as scared as she looked. Sliding the pistol into his holster, hoping to ease her worries, Nick chuckled, “Where are my manners? Name's Nick Valentine. What's yours?” TAG: cliojayne ___________________________________ IC: Julio Rodriguez Diamond City Market, The Commonwealth Two customers at once, Julio thought. Nice. He went into the back as the two men made small talk, gathering the ammo that both had requested. “Alright, so that'll be twenty-five caps from you,” he said, pointing to Barnes, “and that'll be… forty caps from you,” he finished, pointing at Canes. It was then that a ruckus could be heard outside of the city; music, gunshots, banging. Sounds like the Super Mutants were back at it again. Diamond City isn't welcoming the likes of you.” TAG: @lordjania

IC: Cygnus Canes Location: Julio's Weapon Store, Diamond City “ Cygnus” He told the man. “ Cygnus Canes, and what is it you do Mr. Barnes?” As he said this Julio returned with the ammo. “ Alright, so that’ll be twenty-five caps from you, and that’ll be… forty caps from you.” Julio said, gesturing to Barns and then Cygnus. Cygnus quickly counted out the caps and handed them to Julio when suddenly he heard some kind of racket coming from the direction of the front gate, loud and terrible music, gun shots, and then what sounded like someone on a megaphone though he could not make out what was being said. “ What the hell is going on out there?” TAG: darthkain7 cliojayne volacius @lordjania

IC: The Daughter Location: Outside of Diamond City The Daughter would smile as she finally was receiving a response from Diamond City. Surely they had notice the fortress being built not long ago because before when they were still in the wasteland, it was said that Diamond City had patrols all over the ruins of Boston. However, since becoming neighbors patrols had slowed or even halted altogether in some areas. Though they were being disregarded as simple Raider, Tiana knew that they were taking her more serious than that. However, being in their own home and being as barricaded as it seemed, the girl knew the citizens inside must’ve had an overinflated sense of ego and pride knowing they were protected. But it was time for her to even up the playing field though it was something that she didn’t want to do. “Children of my mother I beg you to listen to me. She is willing to bless you and welcome you to salvation but as it is now you are only condemning yourself to damnation. Now I would prefer that you open up to listen to the word and get to know me and my mother and the future she has planned for this world but that won’t happen if you continue to defy and shut us out.” She would look back to her men and nod before watching them bring makeshift explosives and placing them along the wall before stepping back once more. Once they were set she would continue what she had to say hoping that this would now get them to listen. “I have set the will of my mother on your barrier here and unless you open up I will have to unless her temporal wrath upon you as I come in of my own divine power and right.” Tiana would finish with the megaphone once more as she wondered if they would listen to her reasoning now that she showed she could be considerate if people were willing to work with her and listen to the word of her mother. It would be up to the ones inside to take care of the rest and come to the Daughter. Tag: darthkain7, anyone else who is getting involved

"I'm a gun for hire," Malachi answered Cygnus curtly, feeling confident at the sign of the stranger's interest. "I have actual military training though, I'm not just an idiot with a gun." He paused briefly, before remembering to mention his ethics. "I don't do fucked-up shit though. Not trying to say that you do, just..." Malachi sighed. "I've seen a lot of bat-shit psycho's out there in the wastes." As the former soldier was talking, Julio returned with the requested ammunition. Malachi fished around in his pocket, retrieving his beat-up leather wallet and removing the appropriate funds. Malachi couldn't help but frown as he noticed that he didn't have much left. If this Cygnus fellow had no need of his services, he might just be out of luck a few meals down the road. As such, he was eager to hear what Cygnus had to say about his description of himself, but the sounds of gunfire and slamming against the walls of the city rendered that an improbability. Malachi heard Cygnus question what was making all the commotion. "Just my luck bat-shit psycho's would show up right after I talk about them," the former soldier muttered. darthkain7, darthvoxyn,

IC: Trenton Location: The Pitt Trenton sat up and smiled. So he'd ve taking part in another's death. Wonderful. He'd get his freedom finally, or he'd die. He found it unlikely he'd die. He got up and got dressed putting on a shirt, the very sane one that he'd sweated in not that long ago. "I'm ready when you are. Lead the way." He had already started thinking of idea's. For instance who his first opponent would be, what weapons could he make with the short amount of time he'd have to get ready for the fight. So much to do so little time. Tag: darthkain7

IC: Karly Location: Valentine’s Detective Agency, Diamond City The young woman relaxed slightly as she realized that the Synth wasn’t planning on shooting her. His easy chuckle and friendly voice helped her relax even more. Taking a few more tentative steps in she gave him a small smile and replied, “Karly Winfry. Nice to meet you!” Instinct took over and the cheerful young woman stuck out her hand towards Nick Valentine to shake his before she thought that maybe Synth’s didn’t shake hands. That would be silly, though. Surely everyone shook hands? Karly bit her lip and turned bright red, but kept her hand out. Rude or not, she would feel a right fool pulling it back now. A loud noise came from the open door and Karly turned to look towards it, frowning. Was that music? And someone… shouting outside the walls? She stood there, forgetting her hand was outstretched and confused at the commotion along the walls. darthkain7,
